Moving Insurance & Valuation Options
We believe your peace of mind is as important as your move. All moves include basic carrier liability, but you may choose higher protection.
1. Basic Carrier Liability (Released Value)
This coverage is included at no additional charge. Under this option, the mover assumes liability for $0.60 per pound per article. For example, a 50‑pound television would be covered up to $30. This is the minimum level required by federal law and may not fully cover high‑value items.
2. Full‑Value Replacement Protection
With Full‑Value Protection, your mover is liable for the replacement value of lost or damaged goods. Unless you specifically waive it in writing, this is the default coverage option on all Precision Movers interstate moves. The cost varies based on the declared value of your shipment and the deductible you choose. We'll explain the exact premium in your estimate.
3. Third‑Party Insurance
For items with extraordinary value — such as fine art, antiques, or jewelry — you may wish to purchase separate insurance through a specialized provider. We can recommend trusted insurers and help you document high‑value pieces before the move.
